Critical error – no admin access. PHP??
-
From what I can see, my only option for getting my site back is PHP. I’m trying to learn but it’s slow. My question… can you ACCESS PHP if you can’t get into your admin console? The critical error prevents access.

Hello there!
Could you kindly let us know the website where you’re encountering this issue? By providing us with that information, we’ll be able to assist you more effectively.
Thank you!

It was emotionaltraumalifesupport.org. Now I can’t even get to the error message. It says it can’t find the IP address.

Thanks @emotionaltraumalifesupport — it looks like that site has not used our services. Can you get in touch with Namecheap (your registrar) as well as Hostgator (your most recent host)? I’d bet between the two of them you can sort this out, since it seems to be a trouble with the domain or its configuration.
If you need more help with your WordPress installation, you’ll want to be sure to use the forums for the free, DIY WordPress code instead, as these forums are primarily for our free-tier hosting.
Here’s an overview of our services vs the DIY software, but in short, we provide hosting, maintenance, security, support, and spam filtering, as well as real-time backups depending on the plan you use. If you’re interested in moving your site here, you’ll want to get your domain issue solved with your current providers first. Then, let us know your goals with your site and any questions you have. We can confirm the best plan for your case and recommend your next steps.
Cheers!

Thank you SuperNova… I am very confused as to how HostGator is involved; I never contracted with them to my knowledge. And I know I started my websites through WordPress, so I’m not sure why they don’t show up! Confused & frustrated :/

Hey there,
Thanks for reaching back out.
I am very confused as to how HostGator is involved; I never contracted with them to my knowledge. And I know I started my websites through WordPress, so I’m not sure why they don’t show up! Confused & frustrated :/
I understand that frustration and it’s quite common.
The domain is registered with Namecheap – does this sound familiar?
Many thanks.

Yes. That one I do know. Here’s what I got from them: To avoid any confusions we suggest you contact HostGator support to check if you had a website on their Hosting services. Likewise, per our check, you don’t have any Host records in your DNS settings for both domains, which means that any of your domains is not connected to the hosting service.
Would they have outsourced hosting? I can’t access HostGator because I don’t have a login with them, as I didn’t know I was with them! Someone… help! Arrrghhhh -
I wish we could help you with that current issue, but the site was moved from our servers back in 2018, so we do not have access to it or your files. All that’s left on WordPress.com is https://etlsems.wordpress.com/. We never delete sites for our users, even if they were not updated in a long time, and even if your subscription expired.
Looks like HostGator have phone support; I’d suggest calling them to see if they can help recover your current site: https://www.hostgator.com/contact.
If you’d rather move your site to WordPress.com again, remember that you can also move your domain here. That way, you’d manage everything from one place. Our plans that would allow you to move your custom domain start from $9/monthly, but you’d only be charged $4/month if you pay for the whole year.

Plot twist… I finally got through to Host Gator and they said they don’t host my website either. Not sure where the first poster above got their information but HG isn’t the one. I’ve no idea how it has been transferred out or where. I don’t want to lose my whole website. But as Staff said, it got transferred from WP, so this is no longer the right forum for answers. I so very much appreciate all of you for helping me understand this a little bit better. My marketing person set it all up for me, so I never had to learn it- but now she disappeared on me. So I get to sort it out.
