Critical error on website after changing code on snippet pluggin
-
I was simply trying to fix my mobile basket for WooCommerce & now I’m left with a critical error. I have received no admin email with instructions. WordPress doesn’t have a phone number to ring and there is no option to send a message live chat & email. I pay for business which promotes priority support – I’ve had 0 support with site I literally can’t fix. No option to restore or work with a backup. Absolutely shocking for a paying customer to be treated like this.

I was in the middle of editing a snippet to try and fix my mobile theme and my site has a critical error. I am unable to deactivate snippets.

Hi there!
Sorry to hear that! I was able to view your site without seeing any error messages on my end. Logging into the site using your account didn’t show the critical error either. Can you check now and let me know the URL of the page where you see the critical error on your site/dashboard?
Thanks!

Very luckily I found out that I could restore from a back up that was available on the WordPress iPhone app.. I don’t know why this information isn’t anywhere as a potential fix. Not perfect though as I have lost much of the work I had put in for the 5/6 hours prior but I’m just so glad to be able to get into my website – I’ve spent countless of hours of work on it over the years. The fact that I wasn’t able to contact WordPress directly for help in this dire time of need is really concerning as they advertise 24/7 support for business subscriptions.
