Critical error recovery mode not initialized

I’ve been struggling with errors on my site apparently related to the JetPack plug in. I am unable to log in through the recovery mode link sent to my account email, which instead takes me to a page that says “Recovery Mode Not Initialized.”
I was able to temporarily access my dashboard through the WordPress support function, which allowed me to disconnect JetPack. But, having done this, I could not access the dashboard again and reconnect it. The front-facing site now says that it has experienced a “critical error,” too. The only thing I can think of now is to wait for the next automated email that provides a new recovery link. Any thoughts or advice would be much appreciated.
