‘critical website error’ can’t access pages or plugins to troubleshoot

I’m getting an error message: ‘There has been a critical error on this website.’ but I can’t access my pages or plugins to troubleshoot. The plugins page says I don’t have any installed, which is definitely not correct. My list of pages also won’t load and when I click the tab for pages specifically, it shows a message saying I don’t have any… Please help?
