Cropped uniform thumbnails

  I’d like WordPress to display a gallery of thumbnail images. If the image is bigger than the thumbnail size (and it usually is) I’d like to crop out a section and display a uniform thumbnail.

  Why can’t I do it now?

  The only way I know of to get thmbnails that are all the same size is to resize them all off-line to the same size specs and then upload them into your Media Library.
