  I am trying to crop an image and it is telling me that the image cannot be saved after I’ve cropped it. it is a jpeg image and the size is 3874×2592. thanks!

  That’s HUGE. Please read thse troublehooting image tips. I recommmend that ypu prepare every image in either desktop image editing software or online image editing software, optimize it and pre-size it to the exact dimensions specified by the theme and then upload the images.
  maximum displayed image width
  sidebar width
  header images
  featured images

  If you keep uploading oversized non-optimized images (1) you will be wasting your space allocation and (2) bringing the cropper into play automatically means there is a loss of image quality.
