CSR and CRT and key for SSL certificate?
-
I’m trying to move my hosting over to Bluehost and was told to contact WordPress to get my CSR and CRT and SSL certificate. I believe I need to input this info to be able to use plugins, which currently aren’t able to be downloaded (I currently get an an error: “Could not create directory. Plugin install failed.”
How do I get this info from my old WordPress? I can’t even find a way to contact them directly. Thank you so much for anyone able to help.

Hi there,
SSL needs to be set up at your hosting provider.
When your domain was hosted with us, we issued a certificate via Let’s Encrypt, but that certificate expired the moment you changed your domain’s name servers from us to Bluehost.
There is no way to transfer the SSL certificate we issued to Bluehost and there doesn’t exist any credentials that I can give you in this regard. If you still want to use SSL on your domain for your Bluehost site you need to set it up with Bluehost directly.

I see ok thanks for your help. Is this the reason I am getting the error about not being able to install plugins? Correct me if I’m wrong but it sounds like this has more to do with encryption/personal security.

I’m afraid I have no idea why you’re unable to install plugins.
If you correctly installed the WordPress software at Bluehost and you have access to the WP-Admin dashboard you should be able to install plugins. If you’re not able to, either your host is blocking it, or there’s something wrong in the PHP files for your site.
For help with that you’ll need to ask in the self-hosted forums if Bluehost support is not able to help you. We can’t help with self-hosted sites in this forum as those sites are not on our servers and we don’t have any access to them.
