CSS background color suddenly not working anymore, despite no changes

    Everything has been working fine on my blog (http://daddyhoodtranscribed.wordpress.com), and I use custom CSS to create a specific color scheme off of Coraline. But today, randomly, I see my CSS is not working properly, despite not editing it for a long time! My background is supposed to be light green, but it now appears grey.

    The CSS that has been working (and is still in my CSS Stylesheet Editor box) is:

    body {
    background:#e3faef;
    color:#000000;
    line-height:1.5;
    }

    Any ideas as to why it may suddenly not be working to give me my light green background? Interestingly, it doesn’t matter what color I change background:#e3faef to – the grey background still persists.

    Hi thinkindigo,

    Your site background is gray because you have a Custom Background color that is overriding your Custom CSS. To remove the Custom Background, go to Appearance > Background, and click “Clear” next to the “Select a Color” link.

    That should do the trick!

    Yes, thank you! I remember clearing this color way back before I even started with the Custom CSS so I don’t know why it suddenly came back. Unexpected and unannounced changes keep happening; another example is the integration of infinite scroll, which suddenly appeared on my blog and I had to post in these forums to figure out a.) what it was, and b.) how to deal with it.

    I assume these unexpected changes to blogs is due to the ever-increasing options and customization WordPress.com provides. And that’s great, but is there a way to be notified if a change has been made that may (or will, or could) alter the appearance of my blog? Otherwise, I’m left to just “discover” it on my own when my blog suddenly appears or behaves differently, as I did with this background color issue.

    So, a way to be notified of changes? Thanks again!
