CSS code for text shift

Add topic to favorites
I’m customizing my Book Lite header title. I want to shift the title to the right. I’m unfamiliar with CSS. Can someone give me the code?

Since your site is set to private, we volunteers cannot see it. If you could set it to public temporarily that would be great so that we can take a look. If you cannot, can you go to the demo site here and identify what exactly you want to shift to the right and about how far?

Thank you. I’ve reset it to public. I want to shift the blog title “anicca” to the right so that it occupies the clear space and is not overlapping the leaves. You’ll see what I mean when you see the header.

I pasted your suggestion into the css box on my blog and saved it but nothing changed. Should I have done something else? This is my first use of css so it’s entirely new territory.

It’s 8pm on the West Coast and I’m calling it a night. I’ll be back tomorrow morning and maybe we can work through this.

I’m not seeing the custom CSS on your site via Firebug in Firefox. Is it still showing in the custom CSS entry area?

Yes. It appears to move the title slightly to the right. But after saving and opening a page no change has been registered.

Dan, I’m still not seeing any evidence of custom CSS. Do you have the Custom Design Upgrade?

Can you try using a different browser? Something is fishy here. Generally when code is not saved it is because it has a syntax error, but the code is correct.

If you go to appearance > custom design, does it say “upgrade active” near the top right of the page?

Let me know if the change in browsers works. We may have to get staff involved in this.

Ok, then we’ll have to get staff involved in this so they can look into things. I’ll tag this thread for staff attention. Check back every once in a while and hopefully someone will be around shortly to look at things.

I’m not sure how far to the right you wanted, so I went with this:
```
h1.site-title {
	left: 40px;
	bottom: 90px;
	text-align: right;
}
```
Just adjust “left” and “bottom” in your CSS editor as desired.

This is great! It’s nicely centered.

I’ll now try to tweak it a bit more to the right. Does this mean adding more px to the “left”? ie. 45px rather than 40px?
