CSS Code not executed at one computer
-
Hi,
on my page I’m using css code to set:
– the backgroud color of the middle part to transparent
– to change the text color in menu
– to change the background color in menu and
– to change the marker/selector color in the menuI have three computers. All running with Windows 8 74-bit, 3 browsers (Chrome, IE, Firefox) at the latest/newest version.
At one of this computers (my companys computer) the css code is not getting executed at all browsers. All listed effects are not running at all browsers! I reinstalled them without effect.
What could be the reason? A security policy? A computer policy? All computers using only Mircosoft integrated virus scanner and firewall.
Thanks for your help!

It sounds like that one computer is viewing a cached version of the blog, although you’d think a reinstall of the browser would take care of that. Try clearing cookies and cache, closing the browser, and restarting the computer.

What do you mean with monitor settings? All computers are HP Elitebook Laaptops with intigrated displays. Same result when using an external monitor.

Hmm, I was wondering if the colours were close, and the settings on one were showing a false cast that made it look like the new settings didn’t take. I’m afraid I’m out of ideas. Maybe someone else can come up with something.

Based on information given so far, I can’t tell what the cause of the problem might be, but I did check http://tanjastrietz.wordpress.com/ using Windows 8 and Firefox 21, and I can see the custom CSS updates working. Here is what I see: http://cl.ly/Pvhm
I can try to help you with some ideas for troubleshooting on your side. It sounds to me like it could be related to local browser settings, but it could also be caused by local network or firewall rules.
You mentioned only one computer you checked had the problem. Is that the only computer you checked from your work location? Or does any computer you try while it is connected to your company’s network also share the same problem?
If only one computer has the problem, it’s likely to be related to some kind of setting on just that computer. If multiple computers in the same location have the problem, it’s likely to be an issue with the local network settings.

Here is the custom CSS link for your blog. What happens if you open this link on the computer where you’re having trouble as well as the other computers where the CSS is working fine for you? Do you see any errors?
