CSS Comment Colors
-
Hey guys!
I can’t seem to find some identifiers to change some of the colors.
Here’s the link.

(keep in mind these are not the final colors… just testing)
I can’t seem to change the black text. You have to highlight it with your cursor to see. How do I change that color?
Thanks in advance guys!

Okay, I guess it’s not just the comment colors. It also shows up on the “related posts” area and on the title above the part where you make a comment, it says “comment” in black as well.

Sorry for the multiple posts… even the text in widgets is showing black. This is so very frustrating.

Aardvark tells me they are under div, class=”form-label” but I can’t find it in the CSS anywhere. Firebug tells me they are controlled by “body” and if you add ” color: red; ” to “body” you can see what all changes when you define a text color for body. It might work for you.

So… I hate to solve my own issue… cause now I look like a complete idiot!
It was because the “color” in the “body” section wasn’t changed right.
Oh man…

There are three addons for Firefox that are almost indespensible when working with CSS and the web and you might look into them.
1. Web Developer tool kit (swiss army knife of web development addons, but a steeper learning curve)
2. Firebug (has a few quirks but I find it indespensible and you can try CSS changes real-time on the fly)
3. Aardvark (simply activate it and run your mouse to what you are trying to figure out and a tab pops up that identifies what controls it) -

The body section did not have a color defined – at least as far as I can tell. I didn’t look at the original CSS, so I’m not sure, I was just using Firebug and inserted a color into the body and it worked.
-
I thing if you do not define a color, then CSS will default to black, which is what was happening in Body.

If you use IE instead of Firefox, there’s an excellent tool in IE8 that’s similar to Firebug. It’s on the Tools menu. The latest beta of IE8 is very stable.

Hey, I’ve done worse and in a couple instances it took me several days to figure out what was wrong.
-
That’s good to know Ella. Safari 3 has some useful stuff in the develop menu, and I’ve used it a little but not enough to know the full capabilities.

Awesome. Thank you.
Hey I appreciate it! I’m still working on the colors. This is just an edited version of someone else’s template… can’t remember which one though. Haha!
