CSS “correcting” feature disables !important selector hack for IE 6

Could anyone tell me how I can turn off the CSS “correcting” that happens when I save my stylesheet. I am trying to account for the IE6 double margin bug using an !important declaration, but after saving the style the non-!important declaration has been erased! Since we can’t use conditional comments, how do I correct this bug?

I resolved the double margin with relative positioning, but the !important “hack” is still valuable. Does anyone know how to “trick” the form to allow me to use this “legit” technique. I just wish they would let us upload the CSS file…

I don’t think there’s a way round this. If you’re skilled with CSS and want greater control you might be better off with a self-hosted blog and downloaded software from WP.org.

    Thanks for the reply rosclarke,

Unfortunately I’ve just been brought in to style this site by someone who is unable to support the install ( upgrades, server monitoring, general maintenance etc.) so this was the best solution for them. I’m grinning and bearing it for now, but I’d love to know which hacks (tantrick, holy hack etc.) can be used with this system.

We are talking about different things here, is what I’m thinking. You might be able to fix this after all, but you’d have to go to WordPress.org for the fixes.
