CSS customization to MistyLook. Help, please!
-
Hi:
Thanks in advance for your time in reading/responding to this posting. Here’s my situation: I’m customizing a WordPress theme called MistyLook 3.7.1 by Sadish. I was able to change the header, links, body (background color). But there are two areas left that I would like to change but I cannot find where in the stylesheet they are. Here are the two areas:
1). The sidebar on the far right. I’d like to change the solid grey background color for the areas including archives, categories, tags, pages, blogroll etc.
2). The bounding box that surrounds the sidebar, header and posting area. This large bounding box sits ontop of the body (background). Basically, I want to apply one color to the background of the whole page and I’ve already figured it out for the body background. I just need to know where to go in the coding for the rest of the page. I hope that’s clear. My site is: kristinastevens.com/wordpress
My style sheet is: http://www.kristinastevens.com/wordpress/wp-content/themes/kstevens/style.cssThanks so much for any insight you have to offer. I really appreciate it. Have a wonderful evening!
All my best,

Sorry you are in the wrong forum. Head over to http://wordpress.ORG/support/ which is where self-hosted wordpress blogs are supported.

Thanks so much. I was confused about the wordpress.com vs. wordpress.org. That cleared it up. Sorry for wasting your time!

I have another similar question. I achieved changing the colors at http://BCphotoadventures.wordpress.com, but I can’t figure out how to lessen the space between the header image (note I changed the size of the header image so I would not have to crop it) and the body?
Thanks, I hope!

Your header image is only 245px tall but the height set in #headerimage in the CSS is 321. Change 321 to 245 to get rid of the extra space.

Vivian and TSP,
Thank you both for your compliments. I must say that designing one’s own and other websites really helps for those who wish to modify themes.
I feel like a dimwit not catching the incorrect height. Many thanks! It looks much better now!
Take care,
