CSS Customization Upgrade: Does It Remain Active If You Switch Blog Themes?
-
Hi
I have the CSS customization upgrade for my blog (http://studio279.co.uk) and it has been really useful in getting my site how I want it. However, I’m thinking of refreshing the site and to do so am thinking of selecting a different theme. Currently I have the Structure theme, I may explore the Twenty Fourteen or Motif.
What I want to know is: if I switch themes will I still be able to customize that theme using the CSS upgrade I have already purchased for my blog, or will I have to buy it again? I know the customizations from the old theme will not carry over except the fonts, but I wouldn’t expect them to as the new theme will have a different CSS. But I would like to clarify if, having already paid for and purchased an upgrade (over two years ago and renewed six months ago) whether I will still be able to use the upgrade or will have to buy it again. I’m certain this question will have been answered elsewhere, but after searching the forums I couldn’t find the answer I was looking for.
Thanks!

As long as the CSS Upgrade is paid for it is is always active on a specific blog no matter which Theme is used.
However since CSS is theme specific changes in one theme will probably have unexpected results in a new theme (polite way of saying you will need to start over almost from scratch)

Thanks, that’s really good to know! I have no issue starting from scratch, the changes made to the earlier theme were specific to that theme anyway so that’s no problem. I just wanted to check I wouldn’t have to repurchase the upgrade. Thanks for your swift response, it was really helpful
