CSS editing issue

  Hello everyone! I’m a newby in wordpress and I’m going to make a wordpress site. Considering that I don’t want to make my own theme form scratch, I choosed the “Origin” one. But when I modify “style.css” (like #this-div{display: none;} in my themes/origin folder, my custom improvement doesn’t seem to take effect. Using the firebug, I noticed that the div’s style I want to change stays in other different .css file, that I’ve already changed, without any changement. Someone can help me?
