CSS for adding more colouful/clickable buttons to Maisha theme

    Hello team. The Happiness Team told me to check in this forum for and support material that may be present for adding more colourful/clickable link buttons throughout my site. Apparently it can be done, but takes mucking around with CSS and I have no idea how to do that. Is someone able to talk me through it?

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there, we can do this, but first may I ask if you are wanting the design consistent on all buttons (the same) or are you wanting to style some differently than others?

    Hello. I am very sorry for the late reply. I have recently given birth and am only just picking up where I left off.

    Thanks you for your response. To answer your question above, I am happy to have all the buttons the same style…. the same as the orange button displayed on my homepage (Maisha theme).

    The other CSS issue I am having trouble with is changing the colour of the font in the contact form I put on my ‘get in touch’ web page. The background colour of the form is white and the font is light grey…. so it is almost impossible to read the font against the white back ground. DO I have any options to change the font or background colour of the contact form?

    Thanks, Jay

  • I’ve been chatting with Jay in Live Chat about this and although I wasn’t able to assist him with this at the time I promised I’d update this with details of this requirements, which he’s gone through with me.

    The home page of his site shows a distinct orange button for a link. He’d like to recreate this on a number of links on his site (but not all links) – the orange background and grey text. He has custom CSS options available to him – combined with a class which we can get him to assign to the link that he wants to change, I’m wondering if we can do this through a CSS change?

    He also mentioned that on his contact page it’s difficult to read the text due to the colours – could somebody look at correcting that for him, as well?

    I would also like to know how to edit the style for buttons in this theme. Jay, how were you about to change the color for each button?

    Hi @sheit1979, can you give me a link to the site you are talking about, and which buttons you wish to change, and I would be happy to help you with this.

    I would love to find out the same info on updating CSS on our link buttons. We have custom css however I can’t figure out how to consistently add a button that has the same look.

    take a look at http://www.dyf.org home page (top portion) vs. https://dyf.org/give/

    or on a posts I can’t get it to work at all: https://dyf.org/2016/08/29/partner-with-dyf/

    Thanks!

    Give this a try. I think it catches all of them.

    .news .entry-content a.more-link, .news .entry-content a.button, .page-template-full-width-page .entry-content a.button {
    	background-color: #f89e35;
    	color: #000;
    	padding: 10px 15px
    }
    .news .entry-content a.more-link:hover, .news .entry-content a.button:hover, .page-template-full-width-page .entry-content a.button:hover {
    	color: #fff;
    }
