css for footer navigation problems

hi.
i’m trying desperately to code a theme to do something similar to here http://www.abc.net.au/news/upload/
the feature i want is the lower footer section navigation, it also exists in the Hemingway theme but seems overly complicated in terms of code.can anyone help with some pointers on how to achieve this, i just need a post section in white ate the top of the page (which i’ve done and is fine), and a navigation in the bottom section or footer which is grey to seperate the two.
it seems like it should be pretty simple to do, but my skills in coding are fairly slim, i’m just trying to hack together stuff from other themes with no luck.
help please….

That blog is self-hosted, not hosted here at wordpress.COM and you will need to inquire over at http://wordpress.ORG/support/ which is where self-hosted wordpress blogs are supported.
If you do not know the difference, see the sticky post at the top of the main forum page for the differences between .COM and .ORG.
