CSS – I am overwhelmed….

    OK, so maybe I shouldn’t even be looking into this, but I just want slightly more design control than with a custom template. Simply I want to add a photo header to a template that doesn’t have one and maybe change the background. How hard should that be???? I have followed the links, read many things on it, but I simply don’t get it. Is there someone who I could hire to make the changes for me or is there someone who can take one of the basic skins and customize it for me (for hire) so that I can just get the .CSS upgrade and not try to learn wordpress.org?????? Or lastly, is there a simply step by step for an absolute newbie??? I have been so overwhelmed and just want to start blogging, but I am wierd enough to want the layout how I want it before I begin. HELP, HELP, HELP

    Or do you think that there is another host out there that is simpler? I am not certainly not computer ignorant, but have not ever done much with programming type things.

    or are certain designers willing to make small changes for people once they have CSS capabilities???

    adding a photo header is relatively easy:

    changing the background is also pretty simple, you can just copy the body { background: url(); } line from the theme’s CSS (there’s a link under the Edit CSS panel to your current theme’s CSS file).

    it shouldn’t be too difficult to find a designer if you want to hire someone, though.

    and i would say that customizing your CSS on wordpress.com is easier than running your own wordpress blog on some other host. unless that host is freshlypressed.
