-
i’d like to use CSS, javascript and other widgets than those that come with each theme…do i have to switch to wordpress.org to be able to incorporate these features?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

For JavaScript and/or iframes widgets the answer is yes. For CSS editing it’s a paid upgrade included in the Premium theme bundle. read the differences here WordPress.com and WordPress.org https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

So if i upgrade my Oxygen theme to premium, i would the be able to use all CSS features? What I would like to be able to do is add “on hover state change” features of CSS, which previously I used javascript for, but i believe i can use CSS for that now to create a more dynamic calendar. What i need is a calendar that allows you to click through event summaries to more detailed event pages. (*Google calendar does not have this feature)…are you aware of any other calendar widget that could be used on wordpress.com?
I appreciate your help! -
I’m going to give my best advice. Hire a web host http://wordpress.org/hosting and set up your own WordPress.ORG install.
If you do not what to do that then read what follows. See here for details on purchasing the annually renewable custom design upgrade required for CSS editing:

That’s not possible here and it’s why I recommend setting up a WordPress.ORG install.

Timethief you are very helpful…thank you very much for all your advice!
I would like to move the site to wordpress.org. I take care of the site voluntarily for the swim team, but at some point it will have to be taken care of by someone else and I think they would be better off with something easy to take care of. Thanks again for all the help!
