CSS Newbie – Header wont show
-
Hi
Im new to WordPress and new to CSS. I downloaded Blix theme, and all I want to do with it is to change the colors and have my own header. I uploaded my own header and messed with the colors a bit in a CSS editing software, but after I put in the new code the Header just wont show. I have no idea why.
Can anyone help me?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

We need a link to your blog. The link on your username is b0rked. You cannot put two links into the “website” field in your profile.

Oh thanks, I will fix it. In the meantime, my blog is at either dimmalimmalimm.com or dimmalimmalimm.wordpress.com
I actually solved this problem myself tonight. But now I dont know how to change the font of the header title. And I would rather change the color of it in the style sheet, not in the user area.

You will have to declare a font in the h1 a selector as h1 currently inherits the font-family from body. Changing body would change all fonts in the theme.
If you want to change just the color of the blog title, then you will need to add a “color” declaration to h1 and you will probably have to use !important after the declaration so that it will override the color set in the theme custom header area (it typically overrides the CSS). Something like the following:
h1 a { font-family:"Trebuchet MS",Georgia,Times,"Times New Roman",sans-serif; color:#29303B; }Of course you will need to change the font and hex color code to what you want. One thing on the font, make sure and use something that most computers are likely to have installed or the visitor’s browser will substitute the junky “serif” or “sans-serif” font built into them.

Sacred Path,
I believe I made the exact same mistake as our friend dimmalimmalimm made…I posted this in a comment post above and am positive you know the answer after reading this:Thinking just about everything with this new age turnkey-blog is reversable, I did what every newbie does and as soon as I upgraded to the Customizable CSS, I copied and pasted the Original CSS style sheet and saved it. After this happened, my background color and font header disappeared. The pictures and links still appear to work and look find, however, the colors are horrid. So, I then thought that if I Activated ANOTHER Template, and then went BACK to my original template (iNove), it would work. Needless to say, the changes I made by copying and pasting remained.
So, my blog is at http://unbreakablemanlaws.com and I would like to revert it back to the template iNove found here: http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/inove
Any help resolving this as quickly as possible greatly appreciated! My original intent was simply to change the colors of the banner and the background and all went to hell!
Almost embarrased to say I’ve been coding by hand since the mid-90s…
Any help greatly appreciated!

OK, first off, since your blog is hosted here don’t even go to .ORG for anything. Self-hosted blogs are different and you will get messed up if you try copying and pasting anything from there, or looking for answers there.
Go to the CSS edit page and delete everything in the CSS edit window, make sure that “add to existing…” is selected and click “save changes.” The force refresh your blog and it will have returned to the unaltered state. You can then go to appearance > themes and select whichever theme you want.
