CSS Overrides Not Working
-
I’m using the Videomaker White theme and having a couple of issues that I can’t seem to resolve. One is the black highlight on linked text and images active state (pressed) and two is the button styles.
For the CSS, I’ve tried adding the following to the individual elements as well as the Additional CSS in the site settings and it makes no difference at all.
a:active {
background: none !important;
}For the Button block, I have set a custom color palette in the theme editor but none of those colors show up when I try to apply them… it’s all the default theme colors.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there!
I understand you’d like to change the background color of the active link and the button. I’m here to help!
It seems the CSS code you were using might not be quite right. I tested the following CSS on my testing site with the same theme (Videomaker White), and it worked for me. I recommend using this code to change the background color:body a:not(.wp-block-query-pagination-next):active {
background-color: transparent !important;
color: #005fac !important;
Regarding the button, to assist you more accurately, could you please share a screenshot of the settings you made in the color palette, as well as a screenshot of how the button appears on the live site?
The more information you provide, the better we can assist you.Looking forward to your reply!

Thanks, Farooq! That worked great. I added the following as it was transforming some larger link text… font-size: inherit !important;
These are the colors I’ve defined in the Styles palette.

These are the colors that show in the Button block. They’re a mix of the original defaults as well as the first Theme changes I had saved. You’ll also notice that I had to duplicate the primary and tertiary colors in the Default section because blocks will just show black when I select those colors from the Theme options.

Just noticed that CSS override is affecting the button as well lol it goes “invisible” on click since the blue is being set to transparent. Was hoping that would just affect linked text.
