CSS problems
-
On my old blog service I could adjust the width of the columns and some other features. I bought the upgrade here and found out it isn’t the same. I really just want to go back to choosing a new theme, but the new themes don’t work now. Can I just go back somehow and erase any changes that I might have accidentally made?
Also, I can’t do a custom header. I upload, but it doesn’t show up.

The ordinary Custom Header upload won’t work once you’ve got the Custom CSS upgrade. You need to look through your code and find the jpg which is your header image and replace it with your new header image (which you must upload).
If you contact staff, they MAY give you your money back for the upgrade. It is not recommended for people who do not already know how to use CSS. You can certainly adjust the column width and any number of things, but it’s not intuitive.

To get back to square one, from judy on an earlier thread: Delete all the CSS out of the CSS editor (save it in a text file on your computer before doing so). Select “Add to existing stylesheet” and click “Save Changes”. This will take your theme back to its original state without any CSS changes. You can then choose whatever theme you like in the options available.

Raincoaster – I’m not asking for my money back. I just want to go back to the original themes… thanks for the info on the image. I’ll try that.
Ellaella, That sounds like a good fix. I will try that when I have all my wits about me. Thanks.

Well, if you can’t use it you might as well ask. Or you could surf through the various tutorials; the upgrade can help you make all kinds of changes, but it’s fiddly, like everything invented by techs.

Maybe on a day when I have all systems go and I don’t just barge right in… which is what I must have done. Thank you.

Thank you both! I have it back to normal. I will play with it again when I can give it my full attention!
