css style sheet NOT changing static pages

    Love what my css mods are doing for my Vigilance Theme at http://northcarolinacyclist.wordpress.com/; except, the display of my 12 static pages is not changed by my css style sheet. I’ve conferred with Drew Strojny, author of Vigilance, on this problem. He assures me the pages should reflect the mods in my css style sheet. I’ve done my best to debug, including creating new sheets, all but one not reflecting css mods. The key indicator is the stars Drew uses for list versus the squares that I prefer to use [and that show in my home pages]. I also note the my static pages do not display the author. The one page that I created the had squares also showed the author. So far, I am not able to duplicate that one instance of success.

    Can you tell me why this is happening and how I can correct it.

    Thanks!!!

    Resolved!

    The css code below was thought to be universal, that is, applied to my posts as well as static pages.

    .post .entry ul li /* changes the list item bullets from stars to squares,03/14/09 */ {
    background:none;
    display:list-item;
    list-style-position:outside;
    list-style-type:square;
    padding:0;
    }

    By adding the css code below, square bullets now appear on my static pages.

    .entry ul li,#comments ul li /* changes the list item bullets from stars to squares,03/16/09 */ {
    background:transparent no-repeat scroll 0 0.3em;
    display:list-item;
    list-style-position:inside;
    list-style-type:square;
    }

    Note the differences is the element names “.post .entry ul li” versus “.entry ul li,#comments ul li.” I see the difference between the two. I do not know which of the differences is most significant.

    Thanks to Drew Strojny for introducing me to Firebug. I found the necessary element by using it.

    I hope this thread will help someone…

    Drew says: Glad you figured it out Jim!

    WordPress.com must have removed the .post element from pages because the original code with .post .entry ul li works on pages in the WordPress.org version.
