CSS tab hangs

  I broke the Hero theme already!

  Last night, the CSS tab opened up to a right-handed sidebar with a few tools. Today, the function hags. I get a white screen with a black right-handed edge that says “Loading design tools…” I took a screenshot and put it in the Media Library if you need to see it.

  I made a few changes in the various setting topics. I must have fiddled with the CSS somehow without realizing it.

  If there isn’t a way to help me, is there a way to reset the theme?

  The theme customize tools will not load unless

  1. You have one published post on the blog
  2. You have enabled third party cookies http://en.support.wordpress.com/third-party-cookies/

  Thank you for your reply, timethief.

  Even though the Hero theme did let me see the CSS info the night before I had that hanging problem and before I entered any posts, I followed your advice and reconfigured cookies then added some posts and photos

  Since every other theme readily gave me a preview with the CSS tab working, I chose another, the Sunspot theme. I also switched my cookie configuration back to the way it was originally with no adverse effects thus far (cookies only to the site visited and delete new cookies when closing the browser).

  Whew! I think I also have pages vs posts nailed down, too.

  This used to be true, but the Appearance > Customize settings have changed and I haven’t heard of any users reporting troubles related to previews and third-party cookies for a long time.

  How strange!

  I tested the Hero theme just now, and I was able to save CSS changes while using the Hero theme. I tested with Chrome 29.0.1547.65 and Opera 16.0 on Mac OS X 10.8.4.

  Thank you, designsimply. I switched to Sunspot when I had that problem, but checked the Hero theme “Live Preview” just now without any more problems with the right-hand CSS menu opening. It’s a mystery to me whenever something works and whenever something doesn’t.
