CSS Theme Help

  I commissioned a guy to do a custom design and he has done it and sent it to me with the following message:

  ‘Hi Nick

  Yes it’s easy to export the posts, just go into Tools on the left side, then Import, then select Blogger and from there it’s pretty straightforward.

  As for installing the theme, again it’s easy. Unzip the zip file, and upload the folder (TheClapperBored) to the wp-content/themes/ directory. Then go back to the admin part of your wordpress install, click on Appearance on the left side, then Themes, and it should be in there, to activate it.’

  Try as I may I cannot fathom what he means or what to do. Can anyone help?

  Hi Nick. The instructions your designer gave you were correct, up to the part about installing the theme: that only applies to a WordPress.ORG site. You cannot do that on a WordPress.COM blog.

  The Support documentation gives you some alternatives, including having your own self-hosted WordPress.ORG site:

  Are you trying install the Theme at: http://theclapperbored.wordpress.com/ ??

  Or do you have another site?

  Ok, thanks for the help. Although this is something of a setback :D

  Do you have any recommendations on hosting? I want something good value…
