  What CSS do I to add to my custom CSS to remove query strings from static resources ?

  CSS is only for display, you cannot use it to adjust code or how URLs are printed (such as query strings).

  With regard to the original question separate from CSS, I agree it would be helpful if you could post a specific example including a link where the example can be viewed, the link text, and the query string in question.
