Hi,
In the CSS, it looks like you will want to modify the #access style in order to change the color of the nav bar. Currently, it looks like this:
background: -moz-linear-gradient(#252525, #0A0A0A) repeat scroll 0 0 transparent;
The two numbers with the hash marks (#) are colors. These are both designating dark grey colors. You can change the numbers after the hash mark to change these colors. Here’s a link to the W3C that shows some colors and their coordinating hash marks: http://www.w3schools.com/html/html_colors.asp.
In the “#access a” style you will see that the color for the links (an “a” is linked text) is designated there, which is where you should change the color for that menu.
Good luck! -

Thanks @zandyring!! The background rule you mentioned covers Mozilla, but if you want to make the change happen for other browsers, you’ll want to change *all* the background rules the theme sets in the original stylesheet. Here’s a past forum reply that explains it: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/how-to-change-the-color-of-the-pages-menu-bar-in-twenty-eleven-theme?replies=21#post-683100
