CSS upgrade and embedding moving images, slideshows and so on -advice please
-
Dear Friends,
I’m looking for some advice as to what the CSS upgrade I’ve purchased will allow me to do with my blog. for example I’d like to change a page into a post, or better still archive the pages so they have a history section, otherwise there will be many many pages – any ideas here. I’d lso like to alster fonts used, title length on the blog and so on. Also I’m looking to post slideshows and the like to my blog….how do I go about doing this and what format shall I use, whats best?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Best wishes,

The CSS (custom style sheet) upgrade is just that. It allows you to edit/customize the “style” of the blog. It does not allow you to add or change functionality. There is no way to archive pages since they are “static” and sit outside the blog structure. http://support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/
To change a page into a post, you copy and paste from the page to a new post, publish it (back dating if if you wish) and then delete the page.
Changing fonts, font sizes, colors, alignment, title length, etc., is all possible with CSS as long as you have some CSS experience.
Since there is no official support for the CSS upgrade, and few here in the forums with much CSS experience, you should figure that you are on your own. You can go to appearance > edit CSS and wordpress has provided a preview function where you can try out changes which is a very useful thing when first starting out..

As far as slideshows, this search of the support pages for “slideshow” brought this: http://support.wordpress.com/?s=slideshow .
