CSS without the update??
-
Is it possible to do minor CSS changes without the update?
I actually want to update the color of the fonts within my theme. If not, are there any themes that would allow for some CSS flexibility (without the upgrade) within the design of the themes?
thanks

No I’m sorry but there isn’t. If you are expecting to be able to click a button and change fonts throughout your blog then it’s not that easily done. There are 4 ways to change fonts on wordpress.com blogs.
(1) Changing font colors and size on posts or pages either post by post or page by page http://en.support.wordpress.com/editors/font-size-color/(2) Changing font colors on posts or pages either post by post or page by page using the #4 icon http://en.support.wordpress.com/visual-editor/#row-2
(3) Changing font families (not colors or sizes) using TypeKit Fonts http://typekit.assistly.com/customer/portal/articles/6840-using-typekit-with-wordpress-com
(4) Changing font families, colors & sizes by purchasing an annually renewable CSS editing upgrade and doing the work yourself

Timethief,
I appreciate the links! I have the modularity theme. Though I can change the color of the fonts within the posts and pages, but was hoping I could change the color of the rest of the fonts (header, etc) within the theme using html code. Unless the html code is only accessible when doing the upgrade. Was hoping to find a easy remedy for font color changes within themes.

WordPress is coded in PHP not html – all the Themes are shared and you can’t change the code no matter what – CSS is just a styling tool (that’s why Cascading Style Sheets) – just changes look but no functions – else one person could crash a lot of blogs.

You can change a small amount in a Post or Page as @timethief indicated – but if you want more then you will need the CSS upgrade.
Caution there is no official support for CSS and only a couple of unpaid volunteers here that know CSS so you are mostly on you own – on the good side there is some help in the support doc’s and you can try the “preview CSS” look before you pay for the upgrade – there are several online help sites for CSS but I don’t know where they are.

Auxclass..
Thank you for the feedback. And reminding me about the preview CSS.
There is much involved in CSS and at least cut my teeth with “some” coding
experience back in the day when I had a Myspace account.
But that was different as well.appreciate the support :)
