CSS Yearly Renewal Rate
-
Hello Friends @ WordPress,
I recently launched a new blog. Like all of my blogs, I decided to pay for the CSS, but realized that $ 30 is no longer there, and in turn, it
reads $ 99 per year.Though, on the old renewal of the old blogs, it still shows $ 30. So what am I missing here.
Thanks & Regards,
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The ability to purchase separate Custom design Upgrades was changed/ As of September 1st, 1014 those who have username accounts registered after that date have to purchase the Premium bundle to get the included custom design upgrade.

Thanks for the prompt reply. I do not comprehend, “those who have username accounts.” I have multiple blogs. On all except one, I do not have CSS. Are you telling me that the offer of $ 30 is not available.
If the rate jumped up to $ 99, then what more does it offer? That will
surely be interesting to know. -
Username accounts is what I referred to above. And, upgrade prices are subject to change and did not change for years until September 1st, 2014.
This username account of yours was registered October 4, 2011 (3 years ago)
Blogs registered under it can have the $30 custom design upgrade.
Blogs registered under any other username accounts that you have registered after September 1st, 2014 are a different story. The $99 per year Premium upgrade bundle must be purchased to get the included custom design upgrade.
Note that blogs and upgrades can be transferred between different username accounts.

Yes, I know the upgrades can be transferred. So it means that I now
have to pay for “neveragaintorepeatagain.wordpress.com” and
also “thebloodofabraham.wordpress.com” at $ 99 each.Granted that the prices are now high, but did WordPress added any
new features bu increasing the rate from $ 30 to $ 99.Appreciate your help as always. Rafiq

but did WordPress added any new features
Not really – they just do like a Cable TV company – bundle other things you don’t need and were not selling well – sort of an Up-Sell thing – used to be nice here – just buy what you needed – now new accounts are forced to buy many things for a single upgrade – the no ads I think was very popular – so now to get no ads and you have a new account it costs $99.-/yr and not $30.-/yr
Supposed to give you a better experience by paying for things you did not really want –
-
Thanks for your clarification. I just got it on trial, though, I can pay for it. When will the trial period end.
-
The trial on the $99.- package is I think 14 days
Most of the upgrades have a 30 day no questions ask refund period – domain registration only has 48 hours – the down side is you need to pay for those upgrades upfront then ask for the refund
The staff have said that people that trial the $99.- package but then cancel it do opt to keep the custom domain and domain mapping

Thanks again. Now, I need another big help from you. If you look at the blog: http://www.thestupidcommonman.wordpress.com, I was informed back last year to have the domain name to point to WordPress server. For this I paid $ 30 per year or I am not sure what I paid. I do not know if one can call it domain mapping. In any case, I have two to four more blogs with lots of YouTube links. That’s the reason I was recommended to place the DNS with WordPress. Do I make sense? Perhaps, if you check the blog thestupidcommonman.wordpress.com, you will know what I am talking about.
-
you have http://thestupidcommonman.com/ domain mapped to your http://thestupidcommonman.wordpress.com blog
your domain thestupidcommonman.com is registered with Godaddy – the name servers point to WordPress.COM – so you need to pay Godaddy for the registration every year – don’t know what the registration fees are there
thestupidcommonman.com is mapped to thestupidcommonman.wordpress.com – that costs $ 13.-/yr and you pay WordPress.COM each year – that changes the name visitors see to thestupidcommonman.com
hope that is what your question was
-
Yes, that is one of them. Now, my next question is, what to tell my IT person how to map the domain to WordPress server. Last time around,
my son somehow got it done. If you can give me a link to the mapping, then I am sure it will be of great help.Furthermore, I was told that by transferring the DNS numbers to your
server, then the blog will not have any issue with as much YouTube links which is embedded in it. Now, is that true?If that be the case, then I will have to at least map out three to four blogs and pay $ 13 per year for each one of them.

here is how to map a domain name you already own to a blog here
