ctrl x doesn't remove photo so I can click ctrl v

  Try
  1. first click on the image to be cut or copied, then use ctrl+X (cut) or ctrl+C (copy), and ctrl+V (paste), or
  2. right click over an image, and then use its copy or cut and paste options

  In either case you’ll still have to align the image to the left or right after pasting.
