Cubic not working? (New activation)

    Hi everyone!

Apologies for the un-technical title. The issue is that I activated the Cubic theme on a wordpress.com site with a personal plan and cannot seem to find/create the template pages, namely the grid layout.

Some odd things (maybe related, maybe not!):

    * When editing pages, the default looks like the Hever template pages. I can change this using the ‘page layout’ feature, but there are no options that look like Cubic.

    * When editing pages, they look a lot like Hever, including the fonts. When previewing pages, the Cubic default fonts do appear (yay!). The header of the pages are also in the Cubic style.

    * I checked the ‘Page Attributes’ in the document settings, but the only option under there is ‘Order’ (no templates, parent pages, etc).

I suspect I’m an idiot, and am missing something obvious. Is anyone able to help?

Thank you so much, in advance.

OK, so I’m a fool! I’ll write here what had happened (in case it helps someone in the future) and then close this discussion.

Basically, all my pages were drafts instead of published. This meant that I did not have access to the homepage settings, where I needed to set it to display my latest posts instead of a static homepage.

If you’re having a similar issue:

    1) Check that your pages (e.g. Home, About) are ‘published’, even if the site is not yet launched.

    2) In the sidebar, go to Design > Customise.

    3) Under Customise, you should now see the option Homepage Settings.

    4) Select ‘Your latest posts’ and save your changes. The grid format, with your latest posts, should now be visible.

    Happy blogging! :)
