Cubic Theme – don't show featured photo on posts
-
I really like the cubic theme, except for one thing. I don’t like the featured photo showing on individual post pages – I like the look better when it is not showing, so that there is only the one smaller photo.
Is it possible to customize it so that the featured photo is on the front page with the grid layout, but then not shown on the individual post pages? (I realize I will have to upgrade, but I don’t want to if it isn’t possible to get the look I’m wanting).
Thanks for any help!!!

We can hide the featured image on the single posts page using the following CSS:
.entry-thumbnail { display:none; } @media screen and (min-width: 768px){ .entry-content { padding-top: 150px; } }We can make definitely adjust the styles further to get the styles you want for your blog.
You can first try the Custom Design upgrade ( and most of the other upgrades) for free for 14 days before you have to part with your money.
So I suggest you first try the upgrade. Meanwhile we are happy to help here in the forums and you can buy only if you are happy with everything.

Thanks so much for your help! That is much closer to what I’m looking for. But can the grey box go away? I would like it to look like a post with no featured photo, like this:

You are welcome :-)
We can add this styles to remove the grey box around the title:
body:not(.filter-on) .hentry.has-post-thumbnail .entry-header { background:none; } body.single:not(.title-with-content) .hentry.has-post-thumbnail:not(.format-video) .entry-header { color: black; } -
That worked to take the grey box away, but now on the main page the featured image is not showing up…perhaps I’ve done something wrong?
Thank you so much for taking time to help me! Greatly appreciated.

My bad. You did not do anything wrong. I gave you incorrect CSS.
Please change the following rule:
.entry-thumbnail { display: none }to the following:
.single-post .entry-thumbnail { display: none }The CSS I gave your earlier told the browser to hide featured images from all the pages including the front and single post pages.
The updated rule tells the browser to hide featured images only from single post pages.

Perfect! Thank you ever so much for all your help. You gave me exactly what I was looking for!

I am in the same situation. I want to remove the featured image from the single post page. Where do I add the CSS code you provided? I am a beginner on WordPress.

@dreamtree136, you would need the WordPress.com Premium upgrade, which includes the Custom Design feature in order to add the CSS mentioned here.
Once you have that, then go to Appearance > Customize > CSS, delete all the informational text in that window, and paste in the above mentioned custom CSS.

I have just change my theme into CUBIC and It doesn’t show any picture on the homepage. How can I add the pictures in the preview?
Thank you indeed,
