Cubic Theme Front Static Page

  • suskasstories – I’ve done some research and testing, and here’s what I’ve found. The way WordPress core works is that sticky posts are not counted in the “Blog pages show at most” formula. WordPress core works this way no matter what the theme, no matter whether it’s a self-hosted WordPress site on your host or a site here on WordPress.com.

If you always want the same six posts displayed on your front page – while any additional posts go on secondary pages – one workaround would be to always make sure they have the most recent date, rather than stickying them. I realize this isn’t a perfect long-term solution, but when you’re using posts more like pages – in the sense that it’s static content – this is one drawback.

wow kathryn, soooo much appreciate your time and effort in solving my issue (even if the end result isn’t ideal – but at least now i won’t spend time to figuring it out myself, i was sure there is a way around it).

had never used the forums for help but this is way beyond awesome! thanks again and enjoy the spring :) s

  • My pleasure! Happy spring to you as well. :)

  • blisscityville – you’ll need to create a custom menu and add your About page to it.
