Cubic Theme – Masonry Gallery Display Issue
-
I am using the Cubic theme and trying to add a masonry gallery to a new post. The masonry block appears normal within the edit window but is distorted (no gutters, large image size) after publishing or viewing it through the preview window. I am using a Chrome browser.
Is this a bug or am I missing something? I’m relatively new to WP but from my forum digging it sounds like some blocks are buggier in some themes more than others.

Hi there,
This is a known issue with Cubic.
The problem here is that Cubic predates the block editor by a few years, so it doesn’t support styling for some of the newer features that have been added thanks to the block editor, like the Masonry block which is actually a third-party block we’ve added to WordPress.com:

The problem has already been reported to our developers, but I can’t give you a timeline on when this might be fixed, or even guarantee that it will be fixed.
So you might want to consider using the Tiled Gallery block instead – it also uses a masonry layout, but is based on the original WordPress.com tiled gallery, for which Cubic does have the necessary styling.
