CUBIC THEME: why no sidebar?
-
I have used the Customize section to add a sidebar with an easy link to all my categories and hierarchies. However, there is no sidebar on any of my posts/pages/homepage on this Cubic Theme.
Where am I going wrong?

It looks like you’ve used the Social Links Menu area to add those navigation links in the footer of your theme. The Social Links Menu is really intended for linking to your Social Media sites (Twitter, G+, Facebook, etc.)
Here’s a bit more about setting up and using the theme you’ve chosen https://theme.wordpress.com/themes/cubic/
and setting up Social Links https://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/social-links-menu/#how-do-i-set-up-a-social-links-menuLet us know if you need more help with that.

Thanks for the advice, but I am afraid it still doesn’t make sense to me.
I don’t even have a Screen Options tab to look at.
When somebody looks at a post of mine (i.e. clicks on it and reads it) I want a sidebar so my categories can be seen and accessed directly from each page. Does Cubic Theme not support this idea? I was previously used Suburbia Theme and had everything looking as I wanted it.
Now I have changed my Primary Menu to the categories, which is better, but now nobody can see my About page(s) because they are in the Secondary Menu – which even I can’t find anywhere on the site.

No, apparently it does not.
Here’s what it says on the Cubic Theme Showcase page:
Meet Cubic, a single-column, grid-based theme with large featured images, perfect for photoblogging.
