IMO shortexact is right on.

Many of us are affected. Exporting now would mean exporting a dog’s breakfast. Why do so? As mature adults we are in a position to take a deep breath and relax knowing that staff are working on this.

Your files are not lost, just most of the links. Check if your files still exist by clicking in ‘manage pages’ on ‘edit’ and see what happens.

So it CAN be usefull to ‘export’ and save away from wordpress. It’s a great feature!

We will all just have to sit back and relax… I guess offering you guys a bit of hot chocolate might be good as well. thanks for the help, and I can say that I’m glad that I’m not the only one with this error. And thanks for the hint on the “Export” feature thestatusjoe :)

edit: Thanks drmike, and sorry that i marked it as resolved, but since there was not much that could be done at the time, i thought a good night sleep would help :P

You are totally in the wrong place. Do not pass GO; do not collect $200.

Instead, try one of the following:

Hit the “back” button on your browser.
Head on over to the front page.
Try searching using the form in the sidebar.
Click on a link in the sidebar.
Use the navigation menu at the top of the page.
Punt.

(sorry for late response)

don’t do an export/import, just do an export if you’re worried about losing content.

Then it’s safely on your harddrive in a manner that can be reuploaded if sh*t really hit the fan.

I hope it is just a minor problem.
I can still see my pages when I try editing it through the dashboard.

But the frontend just didn’t work…!!

I’m having the same problem… none of my pages work, I get a 404 Error for them all, but my posts, homepage, and archives are working.

I think the problem is with the blog we were updating. I have two blog and I can see everything in the blog I wasn’t updating.
