I am continuing to have strange things happen with images disappearing, replaced with the red “x” and the filename. At the moment, the error is happening here: http://myownbackyard.wordpress.com/2007/02/04/update-on-the-bedrooms/. The second image. This is an old post, which I have been able to view fine before. My guess is, you’ll see both images and will think my problem is resolved. But the problem is this: tomorrow, when I check back in, that image will be fine, and ANOTHER image or two will be gone. On any given day, a handful of images are not loading, from old posts that were OK before. If I log in from my office, different images will be missing than if I log in from home. This has been happening since I created my blog, two months ago. Is this something that WordPress users have to live with, due to the multiple servers? I’ve been reading the forums, and I’ve been happy to see that others are finding their photos again, but what’s going on that this keeps happening? Thanks for your help.

Your problem needs to be reported to staff by way of either a feedback sent on Monday or by way of an email sent to support at this domain. Please be sure that you include all information above when you contact staff and any other specifics that you can provide.

TT, if something’s actually broken, we don’t wait until Monday.

Send in an email to support at this domain now. There’s a number of threads on teh subject already but I would go ahead and make staff aware that you’re having the issue as well. Specifics like you list up above help.

Are you hosting your images here at WordPress.com, or are you using an external service like Photobucket or Flickr? Because if you’re using an external service, the issue might be at their end.

    Hi There

I have uploaded images and link to posts but the image space is showing as a blank spot and when I check the image library the link is there but there is small print where the image should be.

ok, well I was having an issue with the images not showing on my header, now it’s back. BUT now the text that overlays the header won’t go away even when I say “hide text”….

preciousmetal, please start a different thread for your issue as what you did is considered very rude, both on line and in real life. This thread is about missing images, not issues with the ‘hide text’ button. Be sure to state what browser, browser version, OS and any security programs you have running.

Folks, there’s a number of thread on this already. best bet would be to submit a feedback with specific examples of what is occuring. Please include links to the3 images and pages that you are looking at.

Thanks all – I did submit feedback but haven’t gotten a reply yet. It looks like others are having similar problems, based on other threads. I’ll post again when I hear something.

I got the following reply back from Mark at Support: “We recently completed a change in the servers and I think that possibly we could have lost them..” I am not completely comfortable with this, because as I said it’s been happening periodically for a couple of months. But perhaps the server changes have been happening for that long as well. For now, I’ll take that explanation and cross my fingers, and I will take Mark’s advice and send in a support request each time it happens, so that they will know. I was pleased at the genuine concern coming from WordPress – for a free site, they really want flawless performance. Thanks for the support here!

Something may be up again as it appears some file URLs are being redirected. There’s a couple of threads on it already this morning.

I can’t even upload an image myself. Keeps going back and forth from http://drmike.wordpress.com/remote-login.php?login=… to trying to display the post in the Write Post page.

Come on guys, at least admit that there’s an issue. It’s back enough that I still can’t get the edit post link fixed on the first post here.

    Made a current issue sticky.

two photos of mine attached to “pages” only show the file name. If I click on it I am directed to the page to start a new page. The photos attached to “posts” still appear correctly

Please send me precise details – post names, image names, what the images are of.
Unless I have exact information I can do nothing but ask you again.

    Hey Mark,

Thanks, my site craigstephans.wordpress.com displayed a blank square and the link to the photos attached to pages. I just re uploaded and attached the photos to the pages again and they display correctly now.

I’m a new user trying to upload a photo for the first time this morning. My blog is here

    http://summerburkes.wordpress.com/

… am I to assume I’ve been pulling my hair out for the past 3 hours because there might be a problem, not that I’m THAT dumb and can’t follow directions?

Thanks, I’m happy with the service so far otherwise. You guys are metal.

What’s the URL of the image? If you show us the blog AND the image, it might be easier for us to help.
