Current Issue: Wrong Count for Comments

sewwhacko: as i said earlier, my problem solved within days without sending feedback but you should if it doesn’t go away in a few more days or if it really annoys you, whichever comes first =P

My problem still isn’t solved…
But I found a solution by myself: when I edit the comment that isn’t showing in the count it suddenly does show (after I edited it)!
Magic!

I have a total of 57 comments on my blog including my own, yet on my dashboard I can only see 14 (including my own)! Where are the rest? There is no “more” option either. The counter goes up and shows the last comments and number of comments made but earlist comment showing is June 14 – I know I had comments before then. My comments are showing on my posts, but not my comments section of my dashboard. Help needed please!

britgirl: hey i’m having the same problem too, though i wouldn’t call it as such because i think it’s meant to be that way. i noticed it when i was editing my comments a week ago. i couldn’t find all the comments made by me, but once i searched it under my email for example, i could locate all my previous comments. but it would be harder to find other people’s comments… perhaps the next button is missing?

Sulz – no next button at all!! I looked for one.. I thought is should have a next/more button. Must b e missing. But now twenty comments are showing instead of 14! I sent in a feedback.

I wish i could help for I had the same problem, but me being a newb, i don’t remember how I fixed it. But I did and now it looks awesome!

“No Comments” is all I see. Doesn’t matter if I add 1 or 5 new comments. Very frustrating. Is this going to be repaired any time soon?

My latest post shows 1 comment so far, but when you click the link you see there are actually four comments. I agree it is very frustrating. I get the comments emailed to me so I know they are there, but it would be nice to see it on the page as well.

Sorry for there being no content to this post, but Cornell really for me laughing… and excuse me going of topic, stop reading now if you’re only interested in this bug…. …but my girlfriend nearly danced for joy the first time she got a comment on her blog from a total stranger. In my case, she has posted the one and only comment my blog has received in the two weeks I’ve been blogging, but I’m ok with that as I find my voice… I’m sure soon I’ll hit the jackpot and have dozens subscribing to an RSS feed of my blog and reading and commenting daily ;)

jb510: while i’m not as dramatic as your gf, i too find receiving comments very elating. strangely my heart skips a beat upon reaching the dashboard every time, hoping for a new link or comment.
it won’t be long before you get as thrilled as your gf. =P

I had that bug too =/. But then again it’s only actually happened once since I’m a WP newbie and I’ve only gotten 1 or 2 comments so far.
But it has happened. -

Broken, broken, broken.
Second post down (‘bargain basement blogging’) — no comment count. A glance at the ‘recent comments’ widget confirms that there is a comment on that post, and no, it’s not by me.
Something weird is happening with trackbacks too. They’re coming up as empty anonymous comments, which I’m certain was not the case before.
