Current website transfer and technical issues

My current web hosting with VistaPrint has been merged with Wix, but my website was not properly transferred and looks very unprofessional on the new Wix site. I do not have access to my blog on either site. I have been waiting for VistaPrint to add the missing blog and fix the tab and subtab issues. It’s been nearly 3 weeks, so I am looking at using the WordPress platform. Can I transfer my domain to WordPress while the other website issues are being worked on? Thanks

You can absolutely transfer your domain to WordPress.com. You can find the instructions here:
Do you own a domain name with another provider, such as GoDaddy or 1&1? Follow the steps in this guide to transfer the domain so that you can manage both your site and domain registration from your WordPress.com account. Before You Get Started Domain transfers can take anywhere from five to seven days to complete. If you would like your domain to start working right away, connect your domI would actually recommend upgrading to a WordPress.com plan first because the yearly plans give you one year of domain registration free of cost.
So if you upgrade to a yearly WordPress.com plan and then transfer your domain, you won’t pay separately for the transfer, but we’ll transfer the domain and renew it for another year at no additional cost.
