Custom background graphic

HELP AND URGENT!.
3 QUESTIONS I need answers too!
Using the 2010 WordPress template I would like to build a 13 page website.
1) I want to add a background graphic that would take up the each page.
So – each page would have a different graphic. My text will fall nicely in the the centre of each page – where I have left white space.
I will not need to use the Header.
2) I would like to move the Menu Bar up further – but Not to the top.
3) Can I make the exsisting Menu a Drop down menu?Thank you to anyone who can help me!

It sounds like you have some big plans for your site. :)
1. Background graphics: You’ll be able to add different backgrounds to different pages on your site with CSS.
You’ll want to get the Custom Design upgrade so that you can add CSS to your site. You’ll find more info on that here:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/We also have a forum specifically for CSS tips and help here:
https://en.forums.wordpress.com/forum/css-customization2. Moving menu bar: You can also move the menu bar with CSS once you’ve upgraded to the Custom Design upgrade.
3. Drop down menus: You can create custom menus from your blog’s dashboard, Appearance -> Menus. Here’s a bit more information on creating custom menus form our support docs:

WOW — thank you for your info.
I like the simplicity of the Twenty Twelve template.
Will this template work with the “Custom Design Upgrade” to allow me to do all kinds of cools stuff?ONE MORE thing on my wish list.
Can I add a Flash Splash page to my web site – so when you come to my site this is what you will see first!M
-
Yes, to your first question.
No, to a Flash splashpage. http://en.support.wordpress.com/code/#flash-and-other-embeds -
When I go to my hosted WordPress website http://www.thewowthatworks.com and I look at the Dash board, there is no Custom Design to click to install. So how do I activate the Custom Design upgrade?
M
-
You don’t. The custom design upgrade is only available to those who have free hosted WordPress.com blogs and not to anyone else. Please read this > WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org
-
Now that you are aware that you have been posting to the wrong support forum will you please enter the top of this thread and mark it “resolved”? All support for your WordPress.org install must come from here http://wordpress.org/support/
-
Oh, so….. does that mean I can still do amazing things with what ever template I choose by simply getting into the CSS code?
M
-
That means that all support for whatever amazing things you want to do with the version of Twenty Ten that’s coded to run on WordPress.org software must come form the WordPress.org support forums only http://wordpress.org/support/
