Custom Background Image Not Working on Mobile
-
Hi there,
(I’ve searched for answer here and elsewhere but cannot find one)
I am using a custom background image. I set it to repeat, and that works perfectly on desktop. My blog is at: https://willtofreedom.wordpress.com/
On mobile, the background image does not work. The image seems to appear at the beginning once only, and then after that the background is bright red for eternity. The background image does not repeat. I tried two kinds of Firefox browsers and Safari, on iPhone.
I tried going to Dashboard -> Appearance -> Mobile, and setting ‘Enable Mobile Theme’ to ‘Yes’. This makes the red less obvious but it is still there in the sides. And if someone clicks ‘View Full Site’, then bam we are back to the original situation.
Sorry if this is obvious but I really don’t know what to do.
My theme is Hemingway Rewritten, if that matters. It says ‘Awesome! Your theme, Hemingway Rewritten, is already deemed to be mobile-friendly.’
Thank you very much,

Hi there,
Your background image is displayed correctly on my mobile phone. Can you please send me a screenshot of what you’re seeing as well as the model and iOS version of your iPhone?
Here’s how to take a screenshot:

Hi fstat,
Thank you for your reply.
My phone is: iPhone SE
iOS Version: 11.3
I checked this on another iPhone SE with iOS 11.31 and it’s not working either.Three screenshots are below, showing the image appearing once, then the red screen after that:

Fixed position won’t work on mobile, if I recall correctly. Do you want to try undoing that?
Alternatively, have you considered setting the underlying background color to something less red?
Lastly, you shouldn’t necessarily have to use the default mobile theme, so feel free to uncheck that.

Hi supernovia,
Thanks a million!

Yes, you are right, this has solved the problem!
Alternatively, have you considered setting the underlying background color to something less red?
Haha, makes sense! Didn’t realise I picked BRIGHT RED as a background colour.
Lastly, you shouldn’t necessarily have to use the default mobile theme, so feel free to uncheck that.
Great.
Thanks again, I really appreciate your help, I am such a lost noob. Now less lost. Have a good day.
