Custom CSS failing to save in new editor
-
Anyone else having this problem?
Regards,
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Does any kind of error message accompany the failure, or did it appear successful but just didn’t reflect the changes you made?
I haven’t seen that behavior in the new editor, but I have seen delays in saving (over thirty seconds on a few occasions).

You blog is private and we Volunteers cannot vie it. I tagged this thread for a Staff follow-up. Please subscribe to it so you are notified when they respond.
However, your issue could be browser related so we need to rule that out. If you are not running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com/ please try upgrading or switching first.
Note: If you are using an IE9 browser in compatibility mode that makes it render as IE7 and IE7 is not supported. To disable see > http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1196-internet-explorer-compatibility-view-turn-off.html
If you are, please do these four things:
1. Try clearing your browser’s cache http://www.google.com/support/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=32050
2. Make sure that you have third-party cookies enabled http://en.support.wordpress.com/third-party-cookies/
3. Try with all browser extensions or add-ons temporarily disabled.
4. Try enabling HTTPS: http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/
If you are not successful please let Staff know exactly which browser (and version of it) you’re using and post any error reports you get. You can check that here http://supportdetails.com

I want to thank you guys for taking the time to try to help…but I’m as angry as Squarespace now.
I have had two sites on wordpress.com for a couple of years. With upgrades of space, no adds, custom design, and domains. Pretty much all have worked fine.
I recently added a third blog/site, opting for the WordPress.com Business bundle. ( more on this in a moment)
That site is private but I wanted to go live today. My finally tweak before doing so was to add some CSS, the same CSS that I currently use successfully on my other two blogs. I could not do so. The new editor will not save. In fact I may not be able to make any changes to any function, as the top admin bar disappears and there is no option but to back-page your way out.
Now all that’s bad enough and it made the day tough but what top it was when I couldn’t remember what that “bundle” was called, check store info, only to discover that the payment particulars regarding the site was wrong and to my determent. I have the e-mail receipt and the bank timestamp to prove it.
I can understand shaking out a new and “improved” feature set may hiccup here and there, I’m no rookie. But to be double tapped on a sunny spring Sunday afternoon, sure took the bloom off the Masters.
You should have yelled fore…. Automattic

See if this URL works for you, it should drop you back to the classic CSS editor and allow you to make your changes:

Hey gureggu, thanks so much…I know….
that work around does work ….but interestingly not in Safari, couldn’t paste , but Firefox, did so.Yep, I can finesse the CSS but I don’t think I can even change font size now, in the new editor.
thanks so much for responding.
regards

Good deal, I’m glad you were able to get it working.
but interestingly not in Safari
That is interesting.. using 6.0.3 (8536.28.10), I was able to make changes. Just out of curiosity, what version are you running?
-
Hey gureggu,
I’m close to your version… but just saw your “like” post.” It’s brutal, and no good options afford…

Hi onetimepad, I’m looking into the issues you reported now. It seems you’re having trouble with a few different things, and I would like to help make sure everything is working. Let’s go through them one at a time.
Custom CSS failing to save in new editor
I tested this, and I found the CSS isn’t saving properly in the new editor, but only if I use your theme—which is the Elemin theme. I’ve reported this issue to our developers, and we will reply back here as soon as there are any updates.

I’ve emailed you about this separately.

The classic CSS editor worked for me to save changes when I tested it in Safari. I used Safari Version 6.0.2 (8536.26.17). Since I didn’t find any problems with the older editor when I tested, I did not report any bugs about it. If you have time to help test it again, or if anyone else reports an issue with CSS not saving in the classic editor, I’d love to know the exact browser version and if you can think of steps I can take to trigger that same problem in a test.
We’ll get back to you with more info. about the newer editor soon.
