custom CSS help

  I am wanting to post wider photos on my blog as I can only go 490 pixels wide max currently. Will the CSS upgrade allow me to make this change? They stated in the Custom CSS section that “….this option will not change the width of the blog.”

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
