Custom CSS is not being implemented

  I have chosen the BiscayaLite theme. I have the following in the text editor of a page:

  <h1 class = ‘motto’> TEXT </h1>

  I have the following in the styles.css file:

  .motto{
  position: relative;
  bottom: 500px;
  color: pink
  }

  No matter what change I make, there is no difference to the output on the website. What is going wrong? Thanks in advance

  Hey there,

  It’s not possible to edit theme’s files in WordPress.com. Are you sure you’re not using the self-hosted version of WordPress(.org)? Here’s the difference between them: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org

  If it is indeed a WordPress.com website, you’d need to upgrade to the Premium plan or the Business plan, since they are the only ones which have support for Custom CSS. You can read more about it here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-css/

  Hi mapletree666!

  Which WordPress.com plan are you using? Custom CSS is part of Custom Design, which is a feature of the WordPress.com Premium and Business plans only. You can learn more about plans and pricing here: Pricing

  Once you’ve upgraded to a Premium or Business plan, you can add custom CSS to your WordPress.com blog using the CSS Editor. This can be found by clicking on My Sites → Customize → CSS in your blog dashboard.

  Hi,

  Yes I am using a self hosted version. I’m doing work for a charity that has a .org ending, although I’m not sure what plan they’re on.

  The site undecidednothings.wordpress.com is a WordPress.com site. Are you asking about CSS on a WordPress.org site? If you are referring to a self-hosted WordPress.org site, you’ll have better luck posting your question in the WordPress.org Forums.
