Custom CSS Not Applying Properly in WordPress Block Theme

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi everyone,

I’m experiencing an issue with my custom CSS not applying correctly in a WordPress Full Site Editing (FSE) theme. I’ve tried adding the CSS both through the Customizer and by enqueueing it in functions.php, but certain elements — especially within block containers and reusable blocks — seem to ignore my styles completely.

The same CSS works perfectly in a regular HTML setup, so it looks like Gutenberg’s block structure or theme-level styles might be overriding my custom rules. These styles are important for the design and layout of my site (Chicken Road), so I really need a consistent solution.

Has anyone else run into this problem?
What’s the best and most reliable way to make custom CSS apply globally in an FSE theme?

Any tips or proven methods would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! 🙌
