Custom CSS Not Working Properly in WordPress Block Theme
-
Hi everyone,
I’ve recently launched an online store and I’m using a modern WordPress block-based theme (FSE). Everything is working great overall, but I’m running into an issue where my Custom CSS changes aren’t reflecting properly — especially on product pages and certain template parts.
Here’s what I’ve tried so far:
- Added custom CSS via the Customizer → Additional CSS
- Also tried enqueueing a custom CSS file via
functions.php - Cleared all caching (browser, server, and any caching plugins)
- Tested with all plugins deactivated
- Confirmed the styles are loading in the inspector, but they’re either being overridden or not applying
I’m using this setup to showcase AI-generated ad creatives designed using AdImage.ai, and I need full control over styling to ensure visual consistency across product and landing pages. The default block theme is great for speed and flexibility, but this CSS issue is limiting how much I can customize the design to match our ad creatives.
Has anyone faced a similar issue with Custom CSS in block themes, especially when dealing with WooCommerce or dynamic content areas? Is there a recommended way to apply persistent styles across templates in Full Site Editing (FSE)?
Any help or workaround would be appreciated. Thank you!
