  • Hi there,

Did you go to your Custom Design page (Dashboard > Appearance > Custom Design / Fonts tab):
    https://deidremosherdesigns.wordpress.com/wp-admin/themes.php?page=custom-fonts

And there, you’ll need to sign up for Typekit following the specific instructions on the page above. Then you should be all set!

Just let me know if you’ve done this and there’s a specific step that’s giving you trouble.

I did sign up for Typekit. picked my 2 fonts and then tried to FIND ‘my kit’…and then to find what the link that I am to imbed…couldn’t find it…I think this is not as easy as you state. I need help. Thanks…DEIDRE

  • Ok, I’m sorry for not understanding! I’m going to ask for more clarification, I’m afraid.

So, I see on your fonts tab that some fonts are selected. If these are the fonts you want, you’re all set! If these are NOT the fonts you selected in Typekit, let’s go to the next step (which I think is what you’re looking for – forgive me if I’m mistaken):

So if you chose your fonts over at Typekit, you first need to switch to Advanced Mode – you can see the step-by-step instructions here (there are screenshots, but I’ll explain here, too):
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/custom-fonts/#advanced-mode

Once you click the link on your Fonts page to go to Advanced Mode, you’ll see where you can add your Typekit ID (you got this when you signed up for Typekit). Enter that in the space and click “save your Typekit ID”

Since you’ve already selected the fonts you want, they will automatically appear on this page after the page refreshes (which can take a few minutes).

That’s the WordPress side of it! Next, you’re going to need to go to Typekit and add selectors (if you didn’t previously) to your kit editor.
This documentation from Typekit explains in better detail (with screenshots):
    http://help.typekit.com/customer/portal/articles/6840#advanced-mode

So, say you want one of your fonts to be your headlines – you’d put “h1” (without the quotes) in the selector box for that tag (again, this will make more sense if you review the link above).

There are a lot of steps here, so run through the steps and just let me know if you get hung up and I’ll be glad to help you the rest of the way! I can’t check your Typekit for you, so we’ll need to work together on it. Once you do it once, you’ll see that you can do it again!
