  Hi – first post here so sorry if it’s a repeat. Did a search and scanned the headlines but couldn’t see anything that matched.

  I think the answer to this is ‘no’, but is there anyway to buy the Custom Design feature on its own, i.e. without upgrading to Pro or Business? I’ve seen a button that says Custom Design – $30, but whenever I click it I go to the upgrade page. Any help?

  The answer is no because you did not register your username account prior to September 1st, 2014 and that was the cut-off date for purchasing the custom design upgrade as an individual upgrade. You will have to purchase the Premium bundle to get it.

  Sorry for the confusion – that old reference to the standalone upgrade will be removed.

  As timethief mentioned above, generally the Custom Design upgrade isn’t available to users whose accounts were activated after September 1 of this year – it must be purchased as part of WordPress.com Premium or Business.

  WordPress.com does not offer database access, but it does have an export option under “Tools” in your dashboard.
