"custom design" and themes

Am considering purchase of “custom design”. What themes will it work with? I am seeing that it will not apply to certain themes(such as the one I am currently using, Spectrum) Might be looking for theme change at any rate.

Where are you “seeing that it will not apply to certain themes”? All themes have a stylesheet, so all themes allow you to modify their appearance via CSS editing.

Went ahead and got the custom design upgrade. On the colors it said that my theme is not supported by the upgrade. Have found others that are not supported also. However, I am finding lots of themes that are supported by all of the upgrade so I am forging ahead. Not familiar with CSS editing at this point but am going to “get educated” on how it works. I really don’t get it now but I didn’t get a lot of stuff about blogging etc. until I started one.

That doesn’t mean you can’t change the colors, it only means you can’t do it via the easy-to-use color palette of that section, so you have to do it via direct CSS editing. I can give you an example, if you suggest an item whose color you’d like to change.
